Itinerary
Day 1 : Arrive Chandigarh –Manali(320 km)
One can start his journey from Chandigarh to Manali.During this journey , you can visit kulluManali, Solang Valley, Rohla Falls, Marhi, Tibetan Monastery and on various other tourist destinations.
Day 2:Manali –Sarchu (222km)
From manali you can drive across Rohtang Pass (13050 ft) and passing through Keylong, Jispa and Dracha and then cross the Baralacha Pass (16020 ft) to arrive at Serchu .
Day 3 :Sarchu - Leh (255 Km)
The journey between sarchu and Ladakh is very adventurous and thrilling. Lachlung La, 5060 metres(the second highest pass on the manali –leh road),Taglang La(5328 metres),SkyangchuThang and Indus valley are some of hot favorite tourists spots here. They all together creates a very adorable and charming landscape.
Day 4 : In Leh, visit the town and surrounds
Leh is the capital of Ladakh. Shanti stupa, Champa temple , Leh palace,Leh gompa, Jami Masjid, Leh Fort are the major centre of attraction for the visitors here. It is also an ideal place for the shopping silk made items, pulses,herbes,handicraft emporium etc.
Day 5 : Leh - Pangong Lake (150 kms):
From leh, you can visit pangong lake (145 kms) , through Chang-la pass (alt: 17370 ft).Pangong lake is a long narrow basin of inland drainage situated on the Indo China Border.It is the most attractive and charming lake of India.
Day 6 : Pangong Lake- Hemis Monastery
After pangong the next destination is Hemis Monastery built in 1962 , it is the world’s biggest buddhist monastary . Later drive on to Leh, enroute visiting the picturesque Thiksey monastery.
Day 7 : Leh - Khardongla - Nubra Valley (125 kms.) :
Now from leh, the next site to visit is the Numbra Valley popularly known as the valley of flowers. it is a perfect place for relaxation as it offers the purest and the delightful atmosphere to relax your body.You can visit here via Khardongla (alt: 18,380 ft)
Day 8 : Nubra Valley- Khardongla-Leh (125 kms.) :
On return from Numbra Valley to Leh via Khardongia, you can visit to Deskit , Hundar and the Sand Dunes to enjoy the adventourous ride of camel safari. Later then drive back to Leh.
Day 9 : Leh - Alchi
Now from leh through Indus Valley you can take the first step of your journey to srinagar and kargil. Hall of Fame, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, Magnetic Point, Sangam (confluence of Indus & Zanskar Rivers) are the main sites to visit on the way and then to the oldest surviving monastic complex famous for its wall frescoes and architecture i.e. Alchi Temple which is popular for its wall frescoes and architecture.Spend your night in the hotels of Uleytokpo.
Day 10 : Uleytokpo - Lamayuru-Kargil (135 kms) :
From Uleytokpo, start your journey to Kargil. On the way you can visit the Lamayuru monastery and “Moonland” hills. Beside this you can also see the tall rock sculpture of the Maitreya Buddha at Mulbek, built in 7th –8th century AD.
Day 11 : Kargil - Srinagar (205kms)
You can reach to srinagar from kargil via Drass which is a well known coldest place in the world and then crossing the one of the important mountain passes of India i.e. Zoji-la Pass (11,500-ft. / 3,505 m) to to reach hill station of Sonamarg.
Sonamarg is an exciting place for the adventourous sports. Some of the places around Sonamarg that you can visit are Thajiwas, Baltal, Zoji-la pass and Yushmarg.From sonamarg there is a smooth drive of nearabout 1-2 hours for srinagar.
Day 12: Departure from Srinagar
From Srinagar you can easily take your filght for your home from srinagar airport.
